How Miswag Moved the Needle on Digital Payments

While spending a night studying trends and trajectories, I thought I'd share something interesting.

Back in 2022 — even before the government's decision to enforce mandatory digital payments on items like gasoline and public transactions — we partnered with Visa to run a different kind of Black Friday: one designed to produce a shift in digital payments on Miswag, from 3% to 11%. It got a very good reception at the time from partners and media outlets alike.

Today, almost two years on, the trends are even more appealing. Since then we invested more in building the technology to integrate with others. We started 2023 by integrating the BNPL payment method with QiCard, then established a presence in the Qi digital environment with a direct digital-transactions method, and later introduced a full BNPL product inside the QiServices app. Today, with the launch of SuperQi, Miswag has had both digital payment methods present in the new app from the very beginning.

Make no mistake: digital payments are not only about having a card and using a payment gateway to process an e-payment. They're about building the rails, the integrations, and the habits that move an entire market toward a cashless economy.
